COOPER LAWRENCE is one of the foremost authorities on celebrity culture and fame. She has a master's degree in developmental psychology and is currently finishing her doctorate in applied developmental psychology. Her main area of research is celebrity, fame, and the media. She is the host of her own nationally syndicated radio show aptly named The Cooper Lawrence Show, from Dial Global, airing weekdays M-F 7pm-10pm ET. Cooper is a radio geek who has been working in radio for over fifteen years, with on-air stints at WLIR on Long Island, and as part of Elvis Duran's Z Morning Zoo in New York City. She's also worked at Q104.3, WKTU and WPLJ, and produced The Joan Rivers Show for the WOR Radio Network.

Cooper is the author of five books, The Cult Of Celebrity: What our fascination with the stars reveals about us (due out in 2009), The Cult Of Perfection: Make Peace With Your Inner Overachiever (Globe Pequot/Skirt! Books); The Fixer Upper Man: Turn Mr. Maybe Into Mr. Right (Adams’ Media); Been There, Done That, Kept The Jewelry (Adams’ Media) and CosmoGIRL’s All About Guys (Sterling) along with many published articles for magazines.
